We appreciate and thank you in advance for the interest expressed in our breeding program. With that said, there are some important guidelines we have set in place to ensure the protection of ourselves, our animals and our customers. Placing a reservation for expected kids listed in our Kidding Schedule increases the likelihood of being able to secure one of our kids. No animal is considered reserved until a deposit has been received. Be sure to read the following in its’ entirety prior to placing a reservation with us:

Deposits and Payments:

To reserve your Ponto Ranch kid, please contact us first for reservation availability. We require a $100 deposit per animal via PayPal (Friends and Family) or Venmo in order to secure the reservation for a kid in our planned kidding schedule. At time of deposit, please indicate gender desired and the names of Sire and Dam of the planned litter. Note: Payments submitted through PayPal as “Goods and Services” instead of “Friends and Family” will be refunded immediately.

Once kids are born, you will be notified and provided pictures of kids that are available for your selection in the order of pick your reservation allows. Once notification is made you will have 24 hours to select your pick(s) AND submit subsequent payment to meet 50% of the full kid price to hold your goat. Failure to do so will result in your turn being skipped. Failure to respond within 1 week of notification will result in your deposit being forfeited. Please be sure to provide your cell phone number and email address that you routinely monitor to avoid missing our notifications.

All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. If you do decide to take another animal instead of the one you originally reserved, your reservation can be transferred to another animal of choice already born and appearing on our For Sale page.

Ponto Ranch reserves the right to retain any kid we deem necessary for herd replacement purposes. If we are unable to fill your order or if the animal does not meet our standards of quality, your deposit may be refunded, transferred to another choice or rolled over to the following year upon request. Deposits are not refunded on customer-cancelled orders.

We do not provide guarantees for coat color or eye color on kid reservations. Cancellation of reservation(s) for either will not be accepted without forfeiture of prior payment(s).

At the time the buyer reserves the goat, arrangements must be made for pickup of the animal at an agreed upon, convenient time for both Ponto Ranch and buyer. If those plans fall through, other plans must be made for pickup. It is extremely important that the buyer follows through with these plans.

Any buyer that doesn't pick up animal during the arranged pickup time is denying our Sales Policy. The animal will once again be put up for sale unless the buyer gives us their reasoning for not picking up their animal during our agreed pickup time.

Full payment can be paid prior to pickup or at pickup time. It can be paid with cash or via PayPal or Venmo.

First Right of Refusal:

We ask that if you decide to sell your Ponto Ranch animal, out of courtesy, you please contact us first and provide us the option to purchase the goat back.

Health Guarantee:

We strive to provide the best possible care for our animals. We test for common diseases (CAE and Johnes) and are happy to provide you with negative test results for the goat you are purchasing or for the dam and sire if you are purchasing a kid. We take it very seriously to ensure every goat that leaves our farm is healthy at time of pick-up. We do not guarantee health of the animal after it has left our farm.
When a goat leaves our farm (including leaving with a transporter), it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure proper care for the animal purchased.

Our herd is comprised of genetics from stock that is considered "show quality" but of course we cannot guarantee the success of sold animals in the show ring or in other performance programs.

We will provide replacement with an animal we determine to be of equal value in the event of free-marten or hermaphrodite condition when substantiated through sufficiently documented, proper testing.

Transportation:

Ground transportation of our goats is available at the buyer's expense. It is solely the buyer’s responsibility to coordinate with a transporter if needed. If you require transportation of your goat(s), be sure to disclose this information at the time of reservation. Delays in pick-up of more than one week require approval by Ponto Ranch and may result in cancellation of the reservation and forefeiture of the deposit.

All animals leaving the state of IL will require a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. We can assist buyers with scheduling the CVI, which will be conducted at the buyer’s expense.
